Struggling with Motivation? Celebrate Small Wins to Stay on Track

Do you ever have those days where you just can’t get motivated?

Like you know what you need to do, but you just can’t seem to get going. It feels like it would take every ounce of strength you have to just get out of your bed…but then you still have the rest of the day to go & 20 things on your to-do list?

I felt like I had been having a lot of those the last month or so.

I’m human. I am not super motivated or roaring to go each morning.

Especially with 2 children under the age of 4 that require every piece of you when you are not giving the rest of yourself to your job, clients, and scrounging a bit of time for yourself to workout.

So, yea, I feel it when clients tell me they struggle with motivation or lack energy. I get it.

One thing that helps me get motivated when I am on the struggle bus is zooming out and looking at the things I have accomplished.

In fact, this is what I do for my clients each week on their video check ins with me.

One of their check in questions requires them to name something that they are proud of that week.

Another question is for them to acknowledge a non scale victory.

And yet another question for them is to describe what part of their process they are feeling particularly good about.

Each week, no matter how unmotivated or hectic their life gets, they sit and answer these questions for me and receive direct feedback and acknowledgment from their coach along with tips on how to continue to progress the next week.

Last week here were some client wins that were acknowledged:

Beth officially hit 30lbs down this year!

Katie set a boundary at work so she is closing her laptop at 6pm and spending her nights connecting with her teenage daughter over tea. Ditching the habit of that nightly glass of wine.

Martha is down 8lbs since August.

Alison is down 20lbs since June, successfully navigating the summer fun and the hecticness of back to school season.

Amanda is down 40lbs!

Dee is down 50lbs and has completely changed her habits.

Joe is down 21lbs and hasn’t missed a weekend out with friends yet.

Marie is 59 years old eating 2000 calories per day and has hit lifetime personal bests in her workouts.

Nicole officially hit 20lbs down since May! She was so doubtful of her ability to invest the time and money into herself and succeed but she has proved herself wrong.

These are all real people.

With real jobs, responsibilities, stressors, and traumas.

They are not pro athletes or fitness competitors who get paid to workout.

They are busy adults just like you.

You have the same tools they have and can accomplish the goals they have as well.

This week, try taking time each day to acknowledge wins you have had. You would be amazed at how much power that simple habit has.

If you would like to be one of these success stories and begin your transformation, just reply back and we can have a no pressure, free chat to see if it would be a good fit.
