From Self-Doubt to Self-Investment: Stephanie’s Journey

Last Thursday, I had a consult call with a woman named Stephanie who had lost 15lbs in the last 4 months.

She accomplished this fully on her own but ran into a couple of issues that I see very often..

First, she found herself not being satisfied with accomplishing this goal.

She originally wanted to get to lose 20lbs, and now was down 75% of that yet still didn’t like how she looked or felt.

Second, she found herself in a place of total obsession with tracking macros.

She was getting burnt out of tracking every single morsel of food and trying to be perfect each day.

She was tired of not being able to enjoy a meal out because she was afraid it would ruin her progress.

And she was constantly monitoring and thinking about her bodyweight because she did not want to backtrack.

All I could think as she was telling me this was… I have seen this too many times.

At this point in time, she realized that she’s made it very far on her own but working through some of these mindset issues was something that would require additional help and support.

Admittedly, the idea of 1:1 coaching scared her.

But she also was aware of her tendencies and knew how valuable it would be.

Here’s where the story really gets powerful…

In anticipation of our call, she decided to start cutting some other expenses and even sold some things that she owned but wasn’t using anymore on Facebook Marketplace so she could be in a position to make an investment in herself.

She also knew that her husband is a little more frugal and wanted his support before making the decision to invest in coaching.

Rather than telling him about the COST… she told him about the VALUE and how much it would mean to her to be able to overcome her challenges and be more confident in her own skin.

Not only that, but she told her husband that she had already been saving up and sold some stuff to make this work.

Now, it’s likely her husband would have been supportive without all of that extra effort but she didn’t wanna leave that to chance.

This is the difference between people who WANT change to happen vs people who MAKE change happen.

But wait… it gets even better…

After our call on Thursday, she wanted to take a day to discuss everything with her husband before moving forward.

Then, after an appointment that afternoon, she found out that she needed new brakes for her car and it was going to cost around $1100.

Let’s be honest… how many people would use that unexpected expense as a reason to not invest in themselves?

I know the answer. The answer is way too many people.

And that’s because our brains don’t like change. It’s uncomfortable and scary. So when we’re given an opportunity to stay comfortable and stuck… we usually take it.

But she had made a commitment to herself and the fact that she expressed the VALUE to her husband, he responded with this…

“This is something that will benefit you for the rest of your life. You need to do this.”

And oh by the way, her husband is also starting to pay more attention to his nutrition as well since Stephanie is leading by example.

Stephanie started coaching yesterday officially.

I can’t wait to update you on her progress in a few months.

But look… the reason I share this story is because you have the exact same opportunity, each and every day.

Even last month I had 5 people email me expressing interest in 1:1 coaching. And when I told them that the next step is a quick chat with me, personally, to make sure we can help and that it’s a good fit on both sides…

3 out of 5 did not respond. And 2 of them scheduled their call immediately. Who do you think will be successful in that scenario?

Of course, the person that takes action.

Just because you SAY you want something or even respond to an email, doesn’t mean anything. It only means something when your actions follow along with your words.
