Why Information Alone Won’t Lead to Fitness Success
Information won’t make you successful.
If it did, then no one would ever struggle with achieving their fitness goals.
Yea, it’s true we need some fundamental information.
But I would gamble my house on the fact that you have all of the information you need right now to get the exact body/health goals you want.
The real hurdle between you and your results is how the “humanness” can effect your ability to use the information.
Being human is what makes it really difficult to stay consistent.
Part of being human is the unpredictability of life and the emotional waves we go through.
Are we expected to just perfectly apply all of the information we get, consistently, and ignore the fact that life and emotions will throw us curveballs?
Doesn’t seem logical.
It’s not the information or lack of information that is the issue. It’s the skills to apply the information when life is hectic.
There are a number of reasons why you might struggle with staying consistent and seeing progress with your nutrition or training…
Stress
Social events
Mental roadblocks
Trauma
Beliefs
Fatigue
Environment (friends, family, co workers)
Personality traits
Hardwired childhood habits
Support systems
Just to name a few.
Now, read that list again and then say to yourself that you just need more information about nutrition.
Think of how many of those apply to you and then tell me what you need is more recipes, new macro goals, or on the go protein options.
See how ridiculous that sounds?
If you don’t understand yourself and your lifestyle first, you won’t make progress no matter how perfect the information you get is.
Once you have awareness, you can start to change the behaviors that lead to more consistency… with or without more information.
