The 5 Key Traits of My Most Successful Weight Loss Clients

While I’d love to guarantee that everyone who joins my program will see incredible results, reality teaches us that success depends on more than just signing up.

Over my years of experience, I’ve pinpointed key traits that my most successful weight loss clients share. Understanding these can drastically increase your chances of success.

  •      Commitment to the longterm journey

Successful clients don’t expect quick results. They understand that real change takes time and are prepared to commit long-term to achieve their fitness goals. 

They do not look at each passing week as “1 of 16 weeks of my program”.

They talk about year to year goals, and fully operate with the mindset that this is a new lifestyle they are building.

  •      Proactive communication

They don’t wait for challenges to overwhelm them. Instead, they reach out for guidance in anticipation of potential obstacles, ensuring they navigate smoothly through their journey.

They fill out their check ins each week with excitement, even if it was a “bad” week.

They attend or listen to the recordings of group support calls and share what they learned.

They do not ghost.

  •      Open to setbacks

They use setbacks as learning opportunities, always willing to adapt and try new approaches rather than sticking rigidly to what they’ve always known.

They understand that life will inevitably throw curveballs, and they use that as a opportunity to reach out for support as opposed to retreating to a victim mindset.

  •      Checkpoints > goals

Reaching a goal isn’t the end of the road but a signpost on a longer journey. Our most successful clients keep setting new targets beyond their initial successes, instead of saying “yay I’m done!”

  •      Value Simplicity

It’s the simple, consistent actions that yield results. Whether it’s going for walks, logging their workouts in their client portal, or using their custom meal template to guide them, the most effective clients embrace these routines without searching for elusive, complex solutions.

If you’re considering hiring a coach, and you see yourself in these traits, you’re likely to excel. But remember, joining without this mindset might mean you’re not yet ready for the kind of commitment required.
