The Biggest Lie Holding You Back from a Toned, Lean Body

I understand your frustration with building the body you want—it’s a common battle I’ve seen many face.

Having coached hundreds of women over my ten plus years as a fitness coach, I need to share a significant misconception that has led many down the wrong path:

The biggest lie about building a lean body that has caused more to struggle than anything else.

And it’s also one of the crucial things women should stop doing if they want to burn fat with less effort.

#2: Stop trying to “burn more calories”.

While “burning more calories” might help you see some quick scale drops in the short term, over time it weakens the communication signals from your metabolism to your muscles that are essential for burning fat and building lean muscle.

This is why the mainstream advice to “burn more calories” is a lie that only compounds the difficulties for women.

Moreover, “burning more calories” makes it much easier to end up gaining back body fat because your metabolism becomes suppressed…

This lowers the fat burn rate and increases the muscle removal rate, so when you return to normal eating habits, more calories are stored as body fat instead of being burned.

If you’re looking to build a healthy metabolism in your 30s & 40s and beyond to keep off stubborn fat…

You need to strengthen the communication signals from your metabolism that tell your muscles to keep building.

To do this, women need to actually focus on gaining strength in the gym, not burning more calories.

This means you don’t have to:

Do dozens of burpees…

Go do 45 min of cardio AFTER your workout…

Or even track your workouts on an Apple Watch or FitBit

Instead, focus on increasing the weight you lift or the number of reps you do week to week during each workout.

Hint: if you can do 12 reps with a given weight, it’s time to increase.

The process of gaining strength is what tells your body to hold on to lean muscle and get rid of body fat.

When we flip this switch, your metabolism and muscles actually work together to burn fat with less effort.

Why does this work so well for women?

Because when you use your training to support lean muscle & strength, it is the fountain of youth…

You’re giving your metabolism & hormones the signal that you want to build muscle so the body feels safe burning fat.

That means your body is willing to increase the number of calories you burn naturally without adding extra exercise.

Lastly, training this way blunts allows your body to recover so your body isn’t stressed and thinking it needs to store fat.

Now, if you’re skeptical?

You should be.

Don’t just take my word for it.

However, when you click HERE, you’ll see the results of my client Laurie, who applied this training approach along with my metabolism supporting meal plan to get lean, toned, & strong at age 50!
