Your 7 Biggest Fat Loss Hurdles: SOLVED!

I am going to solve 7 of your biggest fat loss lifestyle hurdles right now.

You may not know this, but my job as a coach is way less about calorie recommendations, workout programs, and food swaps than you might think.

My main 2 jobs are: practical problem solving and emotional support.

In fact, those are the 2 main reasons my clients get amazing results.

It would be cool to say I created some groundbreaking workout plan or reinvented the nutrition wheel…but the truth is my program is based on helping navigate their real lives and supporting them.

And yes, I program fun, effective workouts along with flexible and realistic nutrition protocols.

Anyway, you likely have had hurdles in your way when trying to lose fat or support your metabolism, so I am going to solve 7 very common hurdles for you right now because I want to help you.

I also want you to know that when you’re truly serious about making a change and getting the results you desire, I’m here to make it happen with you.

7 Big Fat Loss Lifestyle Hurdles Solved.

1. Hurdle: How do I track food accurately when I am eating out?

Solution: Look up the menu ahead of time and try to choose a meal that can realistically fit the template of Protein + Produce + Carb, that seems “trackable.”

For example, a 6oz sirloin and baked potato with a side of asparagus is likely easier and more realistic to track than the loaded lobster mac n cheese.

Guesstimate the calories based on what you find in MyFitnessPal, but assume it is 300-500 calories more than you think to account for added oils etc.

2. Hurdle: It’s hard for me to eat protein in the morning because I am not that hungry, and making eggs sounds nauseating.

Solution: Mix 1 scoop of whey protein with 4oz of water. Chug it while your coffee brews. I call it the chug and brew trick. This will get you 25-30g protein in under 60 sec and set your day up for success

3. Hurdle: I tend to hit snooze in the morning way too often and it causes me to then have to rush, which leads to skipped workouts and/or poor planned nutrition.

Solution: Set your alarm and plug your phone in right next to your master bathroom. Have your gym clothes folded and on the floor underneath your phone. When the alarm goes off, you will have to walk across the room to shut it. Go directly into the bathroom and turn on the light.

4. Hurdle: I don’t know what foods to eat to get 30-40g of protein at each meal.

5. Hurdle: I am constantly getting sugar cravings at night

Solution: You are getting sugar cravings because you are likely under eating protein or over restricting calories or both. Make sure you are basing your day around 3-4 balanced meals. What is a balanced meal?

It is a meal that contains a protein source, a starchy carb, and a produce.

6. Hurdle: I work a desk job, so even if I workout 3-4x per week, it is hard for me to get 10k steps

Solution: Instead of focusing on step count right now, focus on the habit of going for daily walks. Every mile you walk is about 2000 steps, so by just walking 1 mile per day you can add 2000 steps to your day.

Start with the mile walk either after dinner, when you wake up, or on your lunch break. It should only take 15-20 min max and you will feel way better with more energy daily. You can always build up the distance or speed to cover more steps over time during these walks.

7. Hurdle: Weekends are tough. I always go off track!

Solution: I have 4 really solid strategies for this one.

  1. Get to 100g of protein before dinner time
  2. Be sure to have a lean protein meal or snack within 60 min of waking up
  3. Don’t skip lunch. Have a protein focused meal at some point between 11am & 1pm
  4. Have your last protein snack about 60-90 min before dinner

I go into detail on all 4 of these plus my foolproof “5/7” Rule on my Win The Weekend Mini Workshop (TAP HERE TO GET THAT)
